Volunteering at Wild Heart – Practice in Action
Wild Heart exists because of the generosity of our community. From setting up cushions to organizing events, every part of what we do is made possible by the hands and hearts of volunteers. Without them, there would be no Wild Heart—just an idea with no one to bring it to life. It’s through the collective effort of those who step forward that our sangha thrives, creating a space for deep practice, connection, and growth.
Volunteering isn’t just about getting things done; it’s an extension of practice. It’s an opportunity to engage with the teachings in a tangible way, to serve others with mindfulness and compassion, and to support a space that has given so much to so many.
Why Volunteer?
🔸 Deepen Your Practice – Volunteering is an extension of mindfulness. It’s an opportunity to cultivate presence, patience, and compassion in action. Whether you’re arranging cushions, organizing an event, or supporting a retreat, every act of service is a chance to bring your practice off the cushion and into the world.
🔸 Strengthen Community – We don’t practice alone. Sangha—our spiritual community—is a vital part of the path. By volunteering, you become an integral part of this ecosystem of support, helping to create a space where others can find refuge and connection.
🔸 Support Wild Heart’s Growth – Wild Heart is growing, and with that growth comes the need for hands and hearts to sustain it. Whether it’s setting up for a weekly sit, helping with outreach, or supporting a fundraising effort, volunteers make it all possible.
🔸 Offer What You Can – Volunteering isn’t just about time; it’s about offering what is within your capacity. Some volunteers give a few hours a month, while others take on larger commitments. Whatever you can offer, it is deeply valued.
